Symphony Completes First 'Wild Workday' With The Yorkshire Wildlife Trust Since Signing Up As Gold Members.

Our Gold Membership with the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust (YWT) helps us actively support the environment around us. YWT is a charity dedicated to conserving, protecting, and restoring wildlife and wild places in Yorkshire. Their vision is for a Yorkshire that is abundant in wildlife, with more people having a genuine and meaningful connection with nature.

On Wednesday 21st September, we completed our first ever ‘Wild Work Day’ with YWT.

We sent a team of Symphony employees to Carlton Marsh, Barnsley, to assist The Trust with a project in our local community. Following a land dispute, our team helped The Trust remove scrub that had taken over the land, moving towards the end goal of this scrub land being transformed to its former meadow state. This would create a place for new habitats and wildflowers to flourish.

We had –

  • A successful first Workday with YWT, helping them move towards their goal
  • Positive feedback from our staff and The Trust
  • And a celebratory marshmallow to end the day

We’re looking forward to supporting our local wildlife again at our next YWT workday.
