Symphony leads from the front in accessible kitchen design
12/2007
Symphony's sector-leading kitchen solutions for people with disabilities, has been given a further boost with an extensive range of new frontals.
Ensuring an equal choice for all customers, the Esprit collection of kitchen furniture has been extended to include Symphony's most popular woodgrain effect and coloured doors, creating nine stylish and functional options.
The range: Galway, a flat panel door in Pearwood, Applewood and Green Alder; Weybridge, a shaker style in Pear and Oak; Hudson, a flat panel door in Blonde Oak; Coniston, which features a tongue and groove centre panel, in Apple and Oregon, a saponetta in White and Cream, all have easy-grip handles with an extensive choice of bow, long bar, D and bridge handles.
Available on 18mm colour co-ordinated cabinets, all Esprit ranges have soft-close drawers and fully-extendable drawer boxes as standard.
Symphony's Building Division Marketing Manager Kathleen Lyon said: "We've extended design and colour options across the Esprit range, enabling our private developer and public sector customers to offer their clients aesthetic as well as practical choices. We've selected doors in a range of blonde and darker woodgrain effects as well as in white and cream, representing our most popular designs."
Esprit was created to meet increasing demand for versatile, easy to use kitchen solutions that assist independent living for people with a disability. The collection includes a fully adjustable hydraulic worktop and wall unit system.
Stable and safe, the adjustable worktop can be moved up and down through an electronic mechanism or manual handle. The electronic version features built in sensors to prevent the worktop from moving down too far and trapping the user.
Sinks and hobs can easily be accommodated within the worktop providing a flexible cooking space, while the free area underneath the worktop provides an ideal space where users can remain seated when preparing food.
The wall units sit flush against the wall and are mounted on a hydraulic frame, moving forwards and downwards at the touch of a button to ensure that the top cupboards are in easy reach from a seated position.
Symphony's new Esprit brochure gives detailed planning and installation information as well as detailing a selection of fit-for-purpose built-in appliances from Electrolux and Zanussi, including ceramic hobs with front-panel controls, side-opening ovens and shallow single-bowl sinks, allowing easy wheelchair access. In addition there is a Palma cooker hood, with remote control, from Blanco.
