Kitchen experts at the Symphony Group are asking customers to contribute photographs of their family kitchens over the decades to their website, so that they can compile a picture of how kitchens have changed since fitted furniture came on the scene.
So whether yours is kitchen fashion faux pas or retro heaven Symphony wants to see it in all its glory.
Brand Manager Katy Black says: "Our kitchens are at the heart of our homes and family life often revolves around them. We want to see how kitchens have changed since we set out making fitted furniture, so we can build up a picture of the way our lives are influenced by our changing surroundings."
"In a typical kitchen today you will find a dishwasher and a microwave, not to mention a whole host of small labour saving devices and yet the average new home has a kitchen which is considerably smaller than one built in 1976. Today eco bins and ergonomics are at the top of our customers' agendas and fashions are all about creating light and bright spaces where it is pleasant to work and relax."
