Accreditation

As well as being design led, our furniture is also performance driven, with our kitchen furniture being backed by the coveted BS EN ISO 9001:2000 recognition of quality.

Quality assurance

In the kitchen market many of our high performance products have been specifically designed to meet the needs of today's house builder and Local Authorities, Housing Associations and Retailers. However this level of commitment - to quality products and adherence to good management practice - is also applied across all of our furniture and operations.

We are also the first UK supplier of kitchen furniture to gain Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) Chain of Custody certifications for all our ranges in the social housing and private development markets, guaranteeing that wood used in the manufacture of our products comes from well-managed forests, according to strict environmental, social and economic standards, helping the social sector achieve the Government's EcoHomes rating.

Helping the sector to meet Decent Homes standards in property refurbishment and delivering true tenant choice on new build developments, we recognise that the best value is as much about satisfied tenants as it is about cost.

  • The FIRA Gold Award

    The FIRA Gold Award is the ultimate mark of product excellence within the furniture industry. This award provides a solid reassurance that a product meets all necessary standards. The award provides comprehensive testing and ongoing auditing programmes, for a complete range or item of furniture, thus ensuring that it has been manufactured to the highest possible standards.

  • BSI (kitemark)

    Quality - ISO 9000 is a generic name given to a family of standards developed to provide a framework around which a Quality Management System can effectively be implemented. The system should ensure consistency and improvement of working practices, which in turn should provide products and services that meet customers' requirements. ISO 9000 is the most commonly used international standard that provides a framework for an effective Quality Management System. Symphony is accredited to BSI ISO 9001:2008.

  • ISO 14001:2004 is an international standard that specifies a process for controlling and improving a company's environmental performance. Symphony was the first company in its industry to attain BS EN ISO 14001 accreditation for recognising and controlling the effects of manufacturing on the environment.

  • FSC

    The Forest Stewardship Council provides accreditation services for companies and organisations interested in responsible forestry. Symphony takes its environmental responsibilities very seriously, and works hard with all of its suppliers to try and ensure that all timber products are obtained from controlled and well managed sources.

  • PEFC

    The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification offers assurance that as a purchaser of wood products we are promoting the sustainable management of forests.
